The classification of organisms based on their form, structure and manner of life is discussed in Chapter 7 of Class 9 Science. The Evolution Theory by Charles Darwin and the classification of living species into kingdoms by different scientists including Carl Woese, Ernst Haeckel and Robert Whittaker have also been discussed in this chapter. Chapter 10 – Gravitation (गुरुत्वाकर्षण)
The tenth chapter of Class 9 Science begins with an example of what happens when a stone is tossed from a great height. It talks about gravitational force, which causes this stone to fall on the ground, without it being pulled or pushed. Sir Isaac Newton came up with the theory of gravitation when he saw an apple fall from a tree. His thesis was that both the earth and the apple are attracted to each other, but since the force of Earth on the apple is enormous, the apple falls.
